S.E.N. and Disability

We welcome all children in St Charles' School.

Our Special Educational Needs Policy follows the Code of Practice 2003. A full copy of this Policy is available for inspection in School. The school works hard to provide for any child who has a disability or Special Educational Needs. Parents are fully involved in the provision and education plans for their own child. A confidential record of children with Special Needs is kept in School and parents are informed if the school has any concerns about their child.

Ofsted reported in 2012: "Achievement for the majority of pupils, including those who have special educational needs, and/or disabilities, is good"

If your child or a child you care for has special needs and you would like to find out more information, or want to speak to someone for advice and support, please make an appointment to talk to a member of staff.

All areas of our school are accessible for people with disabilities. We have ramps in place to move from the main entrance through to the hall, Reception and Year 1 classrooms. We have also had a lift installed to enable people with disabilities access to the upstairs classrooms and working areas. If you are visiting our school and want to discuss our access arrangements, please contact Mrs Holden in our school office and she will be more than happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
