The School Day
The School bell rings at 8:55am each morning. From 8:45am, children are invited into their classroom to begin some quiet activities in preparation to start their day. At present we run a Breakfast Club where children are supervised from 7:30am until 8:45am. All children have a mid-morning break from 10:40am til 10:55am.
The lunch break is from 12 noon until 1:00pm. Children are encouraged to eat School Meals but can bring in packed lunches if preferred. In the afternoon, children are encouraged to run the daily mile. The School day ends at 3:30 pm. After School Club froms from 3:30pm until 5:45pm
We have whole school assembly on Monday, Class Worship during the Week and a celebration assembly on Fridays from 3:00pm - 3:30pm. During this assembly, our Bring Forth Christ Award is presented and we also hand out other special awards and certificates. There is also a weekly hymn practice on Tuesdays.
The time allocated to teaching all the subjects of the Curriculum is approximately 24 hours and 15 minutes per week.
The Government announced that by September 2023, all mainstream schools will be expected to provide a compulsory week of at least 32.5 hours. For a numbers of years, our school week has lasted for 32.92 hours which is above the Government expectations.
